A Cable Car by the Sea

The Rapallo-Montallegro cable car is a historical lift, unique in Liguria, dating back to 1934. In just 7 minutes it allows you to overcome an altitude difference of 600 meters, starting from Rapallo and arriving at the foot of the Sanctuary of Montallegro.
A truly unique experience that allows you to admire the entire Gulf of Tigullio from above, with a panorama of incomparable beauty. This is how you reach Montallegro, where the Virgin Mary appeared to the peasant Giovanni Chichizola in 1557. Here was built the Sanctuary, a jewel of sacred art located in a real oasis of peace, from which many paths and a Way of the Cross that winds along the ridges of the Ligurian Apennines.
After a guided tour of the Sanctuary, you can stop for a moment of refreshment overlooking the Gulf.
Return to Rapallo by cable car.
