| The Brown Castle gets its name from Montague Yeats Brown, British Consul in Genoa, owner of the manor from 1867 to 1949. Built on Roman foundations, it 1867 the Castle, previously a Fortress, was transformed into a private residence. In 1961 it was purchased by the Town of Portofino. Conservative renovations restored the residence to its natural architectural beauty, made even more resplendent by its spectacular position dominating the entire town of Portofino. A storybook garden and delightful terrace are an enhancement to the indoor space, making this an ideal venue for meetings, incentives, workshops, business lunches and dinners, in addition to elegant weddings, receptions and private parties. The wide range of services offered have been carefully selected as the result of consolidated, highly professional relationships. All the regular catering and banqueting services, staff and suppliers are particularly suited to the exclusivity of this location. |
