The “pesto” sauce is present in many recipes. From the “trenette” and “lasagne” (mandilli de sea) to the “trofie” pasta. Home-made “Pansoti” with walnut sauce are a real delight, while local fish is enriched by extra virgin olive oil, Ligurian olives, and pine-seed.
Salted vegetable pies, “farinata” “friscêu" and the Genoese “Pandolce” or the traditional sweets, can be found along the coast or in the hinterland in a true feast of flavors.
