This part of the eastern Ligurian Riviera,
from Recco to Moneglia, includes famous destinations
such as Camogli, Portofino and its Promontory,
Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, and Sestri Levante.
The rough and rugged shoreline offers breathtaking views
while the mild climate, which can be enjoyed all year round,
makes this area a perfect holiday resort in all seasons.

From Recco to Moneglia,
the coast is formed by two large inlets called
Paradise Gulf and Tigullio Gulf,
marked by the steep Promontory of Portofino
on the west end
and by Punta Manara on the east end.
The quaint towns and seaside villages
create a unique Mediterranean landscape,
where the hues of the sea and the lush vegetation
are mirrored in the colours
of the typical painted houses
and the shimmering clarity of the air is almost tangible.
The majestic Promontory of Portofino,
an offshoot of the Apennine mountains,
towers above the area at an altitude of 600 metres.
Inlets, beaches and little harbours break the steep,
rugged shoreline,
creating the extraordinarily beautiful scenery
which has made this coast famous
all around the world.
Numerous seaside resorts still thrive
on the typical activities
connected with the sea and fishing,
as well as the longstanding tradition of hospitality.
